Wills

Taking steps to plan for your loved ones in the event of your death is very important.

Looking after your loved ones

Many people are not aware that if you do not have a Will your estate will pass according to rules set out by law called the Intestacy Rules. This can lead to problems if the people you want to benefit from your Estate are not provided for adequately (or at all) in the Intestacy Rules. Problems can also arise if you have a Will but this is out of date or invalid for any reason.

Making a Will and ensuring that this is kept under regular review is, therefore, an essential step to ensure that the right people inherit your estate after your death.

Working with you to meet your wishes

We offer personal appointments to discuss your needs with you and to offer advice on how best to meet your wishes. We ensure that your particular circumstances are properly considered when making a Will and we tailor our advice and Will drafting to reflect this.

We can advise on a wide range of circumstances, for example, estates that are likely to be modest or estates that are likely to be substantial, how business interests can be dealt with and changes in circumstances. We can also consider with you the need for detailed Inheritance Tax planning and advise further on this as required. If you already have a Will, we can consider with you whether this still achieves your aims and whether any events, such as marriage, have affected the Will in any way.
